Hello, my name is Captain Chris Bartsch, owner and operator of In The Bag Guide Service. I run a full time multi species guide service fishing on the waters of Green Bay and all of its tributaries. I have had a fishing rod in my hand since I was able to hold one. I started fishing on a small lake in the north woods in a little town called Wabeno at my family cabin. Here, my Grandpa, Dad, and uncles played a large part in teaching me the basics of fishing. Fishing quickly became something more to me; it was not merely to do to pass the time, it became a passion. I quickly realized I had a special relationship with the outdoors, the water, and of course, the fish. From the age that I was able to be three more lines in the boat is the age I began fishing the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan with family and friends, fishing for walleyes salmon and trout. I think back and just remember the days of riding my bike for miles with good friends to find fishing spots from shore. Ever since I got my driver’s license, there has been a boat on the back of my truck and I was fishing from spring to fall learning the expansive waters and its tributaries of Green Bay.

Now, I have over 30+ years of fishing under my belt and am on the water 300+ days a year following fish patterns from the spring pre-spawn to the final days of open water before the deep freeze of winter. It is this type of dedication that ensures my clients have the best possible days on the water and are always on the best bite. It is a personal goal of mine to make sure my clients are not only happy with their trip, but to also put them on fish that will make memories last forever. To me, there is nothing like the excitement from a client catching the biggest fish that they have ever caught or their first fish and being able to get more people involved with the sport of fishing. I want my clients to not only leave happy but to also give them the knowledge and confidence to go out and do it on their own; or come back and fish with me year in and year out.
